Our Focus Areas
We deliver comprehensive solutions across key domains of global health, taking a holistic approach to health systems strengthening.
Health Systems Approach
SGHI recognizes that effective health systems require integrated solutions across multiple domains. Our focus areas work synergistically to create sustainable, equitable health outcomes that address the complex challenges facing health systems in Africa and beyond.

Primary Healthcare Strengthening
Millions of people in emerging markets lack access to quality primary healthcare services, resulting in preventable deaths, rising disease burdens, and health inequities. Weak PHC systems overburden hospitals, making UHC unattainable without PHC strengthening

Health Financing & UHC
In many global south countries, limited financial resources, fragmented health insurance systems, and high out-of pocket expenses restrict access to affordable and quality healthcare. Without sustainable health financing mechanisms, Universal Health Coverage (UHC) remains unattainable

Digital Public Infrastructure
In many global south countries, healthcare delivery is hindered by fragmented systems, limited access to services, and inadequate data management, leading to suboptimal patient outcomes and inefficiencies.

Women's Health & Wellbeing
Women across the global south face disproportionate health burdens due to limited access to essential services, high maternal mortality, gender-based violence, and rising NCD rates. Underfunded health systems, gender disparities in healthcare delivery, and weak policy enforcement exacerbate these challenges.

Global Health Security
Global south countries remain the most vulnerable to emerging infectious diseases, Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR), and public health emergencies due to weak surveillance systems, limited workforce capacity, and insufficient preparedness funding. Without strong global health security mechanisms, future pandemics will have devastating
socio-economic consequences.

Lifestyle & Aging
Africa is experiencing a demographic shift, with longer life expectancy and rising NCDs, yet health systems remain unprepared to support aging populations. Limited access to preventive care, underfunded elderly services, and high out-of pocket costs for chronic disease management threaten both individual well-being and national health systems

Our Theory of Change
How SGHI creates lasting impact through integrated health systems strengthening
